Kim Taylor

Simulated Patient Trainer

Kim is a simulated patient and simulated patient trainer with over twenty years of involvement in medical education. 

Kim has a wealth of experience in breaking bad news (BBN) and end-of-life care training with healthcare professionals across specialities and disciplines. Her work includes ACST (Advanced Communication Skills Training) courses, Macmillan workshops, projects on Teenager and Young Adult cancer, BBN training for the undergraduate medical course at Cambridge University and postgraduate courses for HEE (Health Education England). Kim has worked nationally and internationally on Train the Trainer courses with EACH (International Association for Communication in Healthcare). 

She has devised and led simulated patient training workshops and courses in Portugal, Austria, Sri Lanka, Russia and the UK. Kim recently undertook a consultancy role as a Simulated Patient Coordinator at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine. Her remit was to develop simulated patient training resources alongside conducting SP training for clinical communication skills workshops and exams. Kim is currently developing a simulated patient training course for EACH.
