Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry

Femi is an Old Age Consultant Psychiatrist. She completed her training in several hospitals in the South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire area gaining valuable experience in multiple mental health sub-specialties. She achieved full Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) by examination in 2011 and Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) in Old Age Psychiatry in 2014.

She currently works with the NHS as a community and an in-patient old age consultant. She has approved clinician status and is section 12 approved with good knowledge of the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act. She is trained to manage elderly patients with mental health problems such as depression, psychosis, anxiety disorders, mood disorders and dementias. She makes clinical decisions using evidence-based medicine and manages
her patients using a holistic biopsychosocial approach.

Femi has been involved in several quality improvement projects within the NHS. She is responsible for undergraduate medical education in her workplace and is involved with training foundation doctors and GP trainees.

Femi is a knowledgeable and experienced clinician and practices a collaborative and compassionate approach to patient care, going above and beyond for her patients.
